Inmates working for Pheasantland Industries at the South Dakota State Penitentiary will produce an estimated 1.5 million non-commercial vehicle and motorcycle plates consisting of the standard plate, the emblem plate, personalized plates, amateur radio, low-speed vehicles and a commercial radio plate for the Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division. The new plate design will be available on January 1, 2016.
