Prof. Sarup Singh Sarup is a well recognized classical dharmik singer from Punjab.
His many recordings includes popular dharmik songs for the recording company HMV.
He was mentored by the classical music ustad Master Ratan Ji (Hadiabad, Phagwara). Prof. Sarup Singh had many shagird (students), most notable of them being Bhai Dilbagh Singh Bodal.
His singing was acknowledged by many sikh sabhawan and organization such as the Prof. Mohan Singh Memorial Foundation and Dhadi Amar Singh Shonki. He has also been the sarpanch of village Barnala Kalan (Nawanshahar) and was a member of the panchayat for years.
Currently, he resides in Nawanshahar, Punjab and runs a sangeet vadiyala. He has four sons. The oldest son runs a musical shop called "Sarup Music House" in Nawanshahar. The second oldest son is the headmaster of a high school. The other two sons reside in Canada. The youngest son Tony Singh has a profound interest in singing and is planning on releasing his own song.
