While zoos often face controversy for simply existing, if the proper safety regulations are put into place, both visitors and inhabitants can enjoy the experience. Zoos can provide educational insight to the creatures of our world and how they may live their daily lives. Even in captivity these are still wild animals and their behavior can never be guaranteed, especially when they aren’t prepared for visitors. So while that tiger or lion may look like a larger version of your typical domestic housecat, they can’t be expected to behave in the same manner. No matter how cute and friendly an animal in an enclosure may appear, it’s never a good idea to enter their territory without experience. Despite warnings there are those that still try to get as close as they can and that’s usually where the trouble begins.
