According to Business Insider, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' net worth increased so much during 2020 that he is now the richest person in the world. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index reports that Bezos is now worth $140 billion, crushing top earners like Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who is worth $70 billion.
The Amazon executive is also one of the few people to see his wealth soar since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. It has increased by $25 billion.
This comes as Amazon workers in the US and Europe have protested the company's safety measures, claiming that they are inadequate.
Amazon has also come under fire, as coronavirus has spread inside of its warehouses.
