RITZVILLE --- The Central Basin Investigative Team has released dash cam video of an officer-involved in fatal shooting in Ritzville of a 48-year-old man on April 11, 2020- Ritzville, Washington
The Columbia Basin Investigative Team is conducting the inquiry into Saturday's officer-involved shooting in Ritzville.
It is believed that 48-year old Shawn Lee was passing through Ritzville with a family member on Friday when his vehicle broke down. Lee was towed back the Love's Travel Stop located at 1370 N. SR261 in Ritzville. Beginning early Saturday, police received three calls about Lee, two from Lee himself. In these calls, Lee made allegations about being tracked and that his pickup was being bugged. Additionally, family members from out of the area called police to say Lee was suicidal and in possession of a sword. When officers arrived, Lee denied the allegations, and the family member that was with Lee said the situation was under control. Officers cleared the scene.
Saturday night, approximately 11:30 pm, the family member that was with Lee went inside the Love's Travel Stop and asked for help. Police were called again, and Ritzville Police Officer Jeff Lane and Washington State Patrol Trooper Nate Romaneschi responded to the call.
When officers arrived on scene, they spoke with the family member in the parking lot. Shortly after officers arrived, Lee exited a parked car and began swinging a machete aggressively. While officers spoke with Lee and tried to get him to drop the machete, the family member on scene attempted to intervene. Ignoring the officers, as well as his family member, Lee began to advance on the officers. Officer Lane deployed a Taser on Lee, which had no effect on him. Lee continued to close the distance on the officers swinging the machete when Lane fired from his department-issue firearm at a range of approximately 10 feet. The bullets struck Lee and caused him to drop the machete. Most of the confrontation was captured on the dash camera of one of the police vehicles on scene. Out of the respect for Mr. Lee's family and the ongoing investigation, the video will not be released at this time.
An ambulance was called, and both officers attempted live-saving first aid on Lee. Lee was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Columbia Basin Investigative Team (CBIT) continues to gather reports generated by officers and detectives involving the officer involved shooting incident that occurred in Ritzville, WA on 4/11/2020.
The lead investigators from the Moses Lake Police Department and Grant County Sheriff's Office continue to put the case file together for an independent review conducted by the Adams County Prosecutor or a department of his choosing.
Investigators continue to work with Mr. Shawn Lee's family and the two community representatives assigned to the team. Investigator were also able to obtain dash cam video from the Washington State Patrol Trooper's vehicle that was on scene and shared that video with Mr. Lee's family.

As if I publish someone else content when someone else is the government, police department, District Attorney, content that they released to the media for "us" to publish them. I take my content directly from the authorities, exactly where the corporate media also are taking it. But they are fully monetized. I edit each videos sometimes spend hours make it better for the viewer.
