Since last week, the USA has a new President and Vice-President: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. One the main questions of their foreign policies will be their position on India.
In the past, the USA teamed up with Pakistan for decades. Much to the disappointment of India of course. India always thought that it would be more appropriate for the USA and India, the two largest democracies in the world, to have solid friendly relations! But for the past two decades, the USA slowly but surely renewed its international diplomacy, in favor of India.
The question now is, what will Joe Biden and Kamala Harris do? Will they continue and strengthen the friendly relations with India? That seems to be logical choice and it would be both in the interest of India and the USA.
The choice that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will make, regarding their relation with India, could totally reshuffle the global balance of power. And if you push India, you might get more trouble than you bargained for.
So I hope they do the right thing, and in my opinion that would mean to tighten the relationship with India, and hopefully also with Russia and Europe.
