Video 19: JOINT SERIES - HIP: G) Pt 1: KB SUMO DEADLIFT The kettlebell Sumo Deadlift is a classic variation of a conventional deadlift that incorporates the hip hinge. Deadlifts are predominantly used in programming to strengthen the posterior chain of the body. While the glutes and hamstrings get the most recognition in this exercise, DLs also strengthen the spinal erectors (posture muscles), lats, core and grip.
Deadlifts are most commonly associated with barbells, however, the kettlebell is a great alternative, especially if you don't have access to a barbell at home or perhaps when traveling. KBs take up much less space and can easily fit in the trunk for road trips!
