Dan Rather Reports spent a year and a half documenting a pivotal time in the struggling Detroit Public Schools system. "A National Disgrace" takes a probing look at the challenges facing Detroit and its controversial school board. Providing a history of Detroit's decline, the documentary focuses on the plight of one student's desperate attempt to succeed despite the odds.

Nominated for a 2012 News and Documentary Emmy for Long Form Investigative Reporting.
