Parts of the Sudanese town of Hosh Bannaga in the outskirts of Shendi were submerged in water following severe Blue Nile flooding, as seen in drone footage filmed on Tuesday.
People were seen collecting debris trying to build constructions to replace their destroyed houses.
"Some people are living now under a tree. We don't have anything left. We live in a tent, while the children live under trees. There is no place to shelter us, and the village is still submerged in water," said a Hosh Bannaga local.
The ongoing September flooding is considered to be one of the worst ever recorded in the region, following a continuous rainfall. The flooding affected millions of people, reportedly leaving more than 100 dead.
