1073 Fender Tele Deluxe Mocha with Lollar Wide Range Pickups

Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...

A really cool, 1973 Vintage Fender Tele Deluxe Guitar with a Super Hot Lollar Wide Range Humbucker Pickups and a really cool Deluxe Tele Hardshell Case...

We got this guitar as a project. It came to us missing pickups, pickguard and wiring harness. As you probably know, original Fender Wide Range Pickups from the 1970’s are just not out there. We decided to put in a set of Lollar Wide Range pickups and what a great decision that was. These pickups ROCK! If you don’t know Lollar Pickups, check them out. They are not inexpensive. $210 each! Here’s some info on these great Pickups…

Product Details

This is the Lollar version of the 70's "wide range" humbucker. The Regal gives you a fat tone with clear top end sparkle and a vocal mid-range with great note definition. Original 70's pickups had the same winding specs for the neck and the bridge; ours vary to give you better volume and tone balance. One of Jason's favorite pickups, he designed the tooling to accurately produce this pickup to the original specs. Our Regal has the same footprint as the original" wide range" pickups, so they're a perfect fit for your Custom or Deluxe. Available in singles or sets and in chrome, nickel, or gold (note that gold pole pieces are not available).

DC: Bridge and neck 10.7K

Low Wind Neck- A lower output version of our standard Regal neck pickup, the low wind version has a tighter low end with added sparkle on top. It's an excellent choice for pairing with lower output bridge pickups (such as our Lollar Alnico 3 Tele Bridge Pickup or Lollar '52 T Series® Bridge Pickup) or to add extra clarity and articulation to the neck position. Available in chrome, nickel, or gold covers (gold pole pieces not available).

DC: Neck 8.9K

From there, we got a vintage correct pickguard that had the correct screw holes. Took us two tries to get the correct one. No extra holes under the guard. We had Jeff the Tech put in new CTS Pots with a wiring harness to a Switchcraft input jack and three way switch. It is wired for great service for a really long time. We had a cool set of mismatched Fender Tele knobs that we have had around for awhile and thought they looked great on this guitar…

The Tuners are original, the tuner guides are original, the neck plate is original, the bridge is original. The strap buttons are original as is the nut and frets. Mostly original in the parts that you want to have on this historic guitar.

The important part is the neck. This neck is just outstanding. We have it set up with whisper low action that is an absolute pleasure to play! One of the lowest action guitars in the shop. No fret outs or buzzes on this one. Love playing it! The frets are worn. The guitar is over 48 years old. Of course they are. They have plenty of life left in them however. Will it need a refret some day? Of course. If you are a Pro Player, sooner than the home studio player, but there is lots of songs left in these original frets. Check the pics!

The Maple slab neck is in great shape...This guitar has 21 frets and its a 25.5 inch scale neck like a Strat. The biggest difference is the frets..These use medium Jumbo frets and strats use narrower frets from the same age era....The nut measures 1 5/8 inches.

The new Custom Deluxe Case is really cool. We have had this one around for awhile as well, waiting for the right guitar. We thought without the original case, why not give this one a boost with this awesome case. Its brand new and looks it. Quilted Gold interior with the brown on brown Tolex on the exterior. The handle is nicely padded and it looks great. Love how this Mahogany finish looks in the gold interior. Check those pics!

Now this guitar is uber cool but old and vintage so it will be sold as-is no returns... however, I have been hand picking my customers instruments for over 20 years now and they all loved what I found for them. This cool Tele Deluxe will certainly not be an exception...

Thanks for checking out our cool vintage guitars, amps and guitar parts!
