At this point, it’s more likely that the $600 per week unemployment benefit will be going away.
Even though Democrats want to extend the $600-a-week payments until next year or slowly reduce aid as the unemployment rate falls, The Trump administration and Senate Republican leader want to end enhanced unemployment benefits.
Instead, the White House and congressional Republicans want to provide a temporary cash bonus to those who find a job. According to a new report from CNBC.
As of late May, about 4.75 million homeowners went into forbearance. And with many homeowners out of work, it has become a challenge to keep us with not just mortgage but other obligations like property taxes and home insurance.
According to a new MSN report, there many relief options beyond mortgage for homeowners.
In March, the CARES Act gave student loan borrowers a six-month break from their monthly payments with zero interest accumulation during that period.
House Democrats, called for extending the break for another year, until Sept. 30, 2021. in their $3 trillion HEROES Act.
So far, we don’t know if Senate Republicans will give student loan borrowers an extra year of extended grace period.
As we get closer to the 1st of October, when student loan borrowers are required to start making their monthly payments again, the Senate is yet to pass any measure to extend student loan payments.
And new grads, stepping into one of the worst job markets in history, may not see any help with their loans.
Now experts are worried that this could result in financial disaster for millions of student loan borrowers.
When is the next stimulus check coming?
Republicans have said they want to be cautious about the next stimulus package. So they have been going slow, with no sense of urgency on the next stimulus package. Unlike the Congressional Democrats who have passed the HEROES Act in the house and pushing for it to be passed in the Senate.
So far all we know is that Congress wants to go on a 2 week paid vacation before debating if the American people will receive a second stimulus check.
The story changes everyday, but right now it is almost impossible that you will receive a second stimulus check in July. Best guess is August.
