Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma has blamed northern security chiefs for the influx of Northerners and especially Almajiris to Southern Nigeria and largely to Southeast. Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma questioned why should truck drivers hide dozens of Almajiris, jobless underage and unskilled youths inside trucks conveying live stocks, food stocks and other materials passing all the borders and check points in the northe before smuggling them into the southeast.
He alleged that they could be a hidden agenda for this threatening act and insisted that the northern security chiefs made it easy for the trucks conveying the Almajiris to pass all the borders, all the check points from the North to Southeast unchecked.
The Archbishop condemned the movement and ask the south east governors to demand redeployment of northern security chiefs out of the zone and make sure that they are replaced by the Easterners.
In his words, "it is time for the South East Governors to demand that Security Chiefs in their Zone should not be Northerners"
