Coronavirus: UK Minister admits some early COVID-19 tests didn't work

Coronavirus: UK Minister admits some early COVID-19 tests didn't work Health Minister Helen Whately admitted some of the early coronavirus tests given to frontline workers were "not effective enough".

Some NHS workers have received letters asking them to be retested for COVID-19.

The news means some staff may have returned to work not knowing they were infected.

She insisted the UK did not join the EU procurement scheme for ventilators and PPE because of a "communication error" - not because of a "political decision" based on Brexit, as the head of Foreign Office said yesterday.
