Australia might be 'well and truly on the way to recovery'

Australia might be 'well and truly on the way to recovery' As the national daily increase of coronavirus cases slowly decreases, Australia is "seeing the first glimmer of a flattening curve" says Sky News host Chris Smith.

Many new cases of the virus in Australia are being linked back to the arrival of three international cruise ships into the country, with the Ruby Princess ship alone unleashing 100 cases so far.

Mr Smith said the "foreign travellers" who are returning on the cruise ships are "the ones that are getting infected," but the national and New South Wales daily increases have been promising.

"The NSW number is less for the first time ever than the previous 24 hours," he said.

Mr Smith told Sky News host Peta Credlin once the next week-and-a-half has passed "which is where these cruise ship victims end up getting through the coronavirus", Australia might find itself "well and truly on the way to recovery".

"I don't think we can do with losing another million workers by having a four week lockdown".
